About the Challenges

5 Grand Challenges, a yearlong structured competition guiding the first business idea and further escalating it from Vision to Venture. It comprises of a series of events and personal mentoring sessions for potential ideas and early stage startups to evaluate their plan. The competition fosters entrepreneurship by enabling smooth transit from idea to realization of an enterprise through workshops, mentoring, networking opportunities, publicity, concept validation, and cash and in-kind prizes.


Aiming to solve the Grand Challenges in:

    1. Healthcare (e.g: Healthcare App, Hearing Aid Dispensary, Home Healthcare Service etc.)

    2. Information and Communication Technologies (e.g: Cybersecurity, Telecommunications, AI, 3D-4D printing)

    3. Green Energy (e.g: Agritech, Waste management, Solar/Wind energy)

    4. Urban Areas/Cities (e.g: Smart Home, Intelligent Transportation, Sustainable Construction)

    5.Fintech and Media (e.g: E-Commerce, E-Wallet, Post production service)

Market Research Workshop: Understand and segment your customers with developing strategies for customer acquisition and retention.

Business Model Canvas: Build Business Models that work and create value propositions that sell!

One-on-One mentoring: Closed room mentoring with a mentor mapped based on experience and skill sets.

Stage III: B-PLAN

Teams that go through this round will be asked to submit a more detailed executive summary of their business ideas. The questions will be about Startup’s value proposition, pricing and sales strategy, financing plans and their visions for the future.

Stage IV: BUILD

Team building and Freelancing Program : Build your extended team by registering your team requirements and find the best fit members, who're equally passionate and motivated to align themselves with the set vision of your start-up.

Winter School Program: A series of workshops and keynotes on Lean Model Canavs, go to Market Strategy, Handling Finances as an entrepreneur.

Stage V : THE PITCH

Pitching session of the proposed business plan in front of investors, incubators and companies that are associated with Grand Challenges. The judging criteria will be updated soon.
